New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) Commissioner Amanda Lefton today announced the release of proposed changes to coolwater sportfish regulations that will help protect fish while spawning, increase the reproductive capacity of walleye in Lake Ontario’s eastern basin, and eliminate unnecessary special regulations.

According to authorities, the incident occurred on January 11 at approximately 12:30 p.m. Forest Ranger Dormer responded to a report of a vehicle off the roadway and over an embankment. Upon arrival, Ranger Dormer, along with a member of the Thurston Fire Department, located the SUV and determined that it was occupied by an adult driver, an adult front-seat passenger, and a child seated in the back.
