Brush Fire Damages Multiple Structures in Town of Queensbury

Town of Queensbury, Warren County — A brush fire in the Town of Queensbury damaged multiple structures, including a child’s playhouse, on the afternoon of April 28.


According to officials, two Forest Rangers responded to the fire at approximately 3:45 p.m. The blaze spread quickly through dry vegetation before firefighters were able to bring it under control.


Fire crews from the Bay Ridge Fire Department, Queensbury Central Fire Department, South Glens Falls Fire Department, South Queensbury Fire Department, and West Glens Falls Fire Department responded to the scene and successfully contained the fire to approximately 0.5 acres.


No injuries were reported. However, several structures sustained damage as a result of the fire’s spread.


Forest Rangers issued a ticket in connection with the incident after determining the fire had been left unattended. Officials are reminding residents that even small outdoor fires can quickly become dangerous, particularly during dry conditions, and stress the importance of closely monitoring any open flames.


The incident remains under investigation, and authorities continue to urge the public to follow all fire safety regulations to help prevent similar events.
