Cup and Crumbs Brings Community-Focused Coffee Shop to Verona

VERONA, N.Y. — A new locally owned coffee shop is brewing more than just coffee in Verona. Cup and Crumbs, located on State Route 31, is creating a welcoming gathering place where neighbors can connect over fresh food and locally sourced ingredients.
Husband-and-wife owners Ron and Liz Winn opened the café in May after spending four months renovating the space. The couple said they recognized a need for a family-owned coffee shop in the Verona area and set out to build a business that reflects the community it serves.
That local spirit is evident throughout the café. Many of the shop's furnishings and décor were created using recycled materials. A table was crafted from a burlap coffee bean bag, a repurposed front door now serves as a window counter, and the countertops are decorated with historical newspaper clippings from the local area.
The café's commitment to supporting local businesses extends to its menu. Coffee beans are supplied by Full of Beans Coffee Company in Utica, while fresh eggs come from Vernon farmer Mike Pec.
Customers can enjoy a variety of coffee drinks, breakfast sandwiches, and homemade pastries prepared by Liz Winn. Beginning at 11 a.m. each day, the menu expands to include freshly made subs and chopped sub bowls.
By combining locally sourced ingredients, creative upcycled décor, and a welcoming atmosphere, Cup and Crumbs hopes to become more than just a place to grab a cup of coffee—it aims to become a neighborhood gathering spot for the Verona community.
