Step Into Baseball History at the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum
For baseball fans, there may be no destination quite like Cooperstown, New York. Known around the world as the home of America’s pastime, the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum offers visitors the chance to step inside the stories, achievements and unforgettable moments that have shaped the game for generations.
Located in the heart of the village, the Hall of Fame is an independent, nonprofit educational institution dedicated to preserving baseball history and helping visitors discover the sport’s lasting impact on American culture. Open year-round, the museum welcomes fans of all ages to explore interactive exhibits, historic artifacts and the legends whose names have become synonymous with the game.
A Visit to the Plaque Gallery
At the center of the Hall of Fame experience is its crowning jewel, the Plaque Gallery. Here, visitors can see the bronze plaques honoring all 346 members of the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
The gallery pays tribute to the players, managers, executives and umpires who achieved excellence at the highest level of the sport. These are the pioneers, record-breakers and builders of baseball dynasties who inspired generations of fans and earned one of the game's greatest honors: a place in Cooperstown.
Across three floors of exhibit space, the museum brings baseball history to life through artifacts and stories that explore not only memorable moments on the field, but also the sport's influence on society.

Exhibits That Tell Baseball's Story
Visitors will find plenty to discover throughout the museum, including The Souls of the Game: Voices of Black Baseball, which explores the history of early Black baseball, the Negro Leagues, Jackie Robinson, reintegration and the continuing evolution of the game. The exhibit also celebrates modern stars while examining the progress, challenges and calls for change that continue today.
Baseball fans can also experience Generations of the Game, a 16-minute film shown exclusively at the museum that explores the sport's place in American life.
Other exhibits highlight the many people and stories that helped shape baseball throughout history. Diamond Dreams: Women in Baseball traces women's involvement in the sport from 19th-century ballclubs to today's players, executives, broadcasters and other leaders.
Collectors and fans of baseball memorabilia can explore Shoebox Treasures, an exhibit dedicated to the fascinating history of baseball cards. Meanwhile, Whole New Ballgame takes an interactive look at the evolution of baseball from 1970 through today.
For those who love the numbers behind the game, One for the Books provides a comprehensive look at baseball records and the stories behind some of the sport's most remarkable achievements. Autumn Glory celebrates postseason history, featuring artifacts and stories from the first modern World Series in 1903 through the most recent season.
The international influence of baseball is also on display in Viva Baseball!, a bilingual exhibit featuring nearly 150 artifacts and multimedia presentations exploring the deep passion and lasting connection between Latin America and the sport.

A trip to the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum is more than a visit to see historic artifacts. It is an opportunity to experience the stories behind the players and moments that brought generations of fans together.
