Halloween season is getting a darker twist in Hannibal as Demon Acres Haunted Hayride invites thrill-seekers to venture deep into the backwoods for an evening filled with monsters, mayhem and plenty of reasons to scream.

Located on 25 acres, Demon Acres has quickly become a growing destination for those looking for more than a traditional haunted attraction. With more than 1,500 square feet of terrifying twists, turns and special effects, the haunt offers three distinct attractions designed to challenge even the bravest visitors.

Three Attractions. One Night of Fear.

The centerpiece of the experience is the Extreme Haunted Hayride, known as Depths of the Dark Forest. Guests climb aboard the wagon and head into the creepy backwoods, where demented hillbillies, a castle gatekeeper and other nightmares await.

With elaborate sets and special effects surrounding the journey, visitors never know what might emerge from the darkness. The deeper the wagon travels into the forest, the more difficult it becomes to predict what is waiting around the next turn.

But the hayride is only the beginning.

Enter Demon's Den

For those who survive the hayride, Demon's Den Haunted House offers another opportunity to face the unknown.

Guests enter through a sinister reception area before making their way through 15 highly detailed rooms, each filled with its own terrifying surprises. Spirits of the dead lurk around the corners, and somewhere within the darkness waits a dragon capable of turning an already frightening experience into a fight for survival.

The goal is simple: make it through the house in one piece.

Whether the demons get your soul first is another question entirely.

The Abandoned Jail

The third attraction takes visitors somewhere considerably more confined—the Abandoned Jail.

Founded in 1979, the eerie abandoned jail is said to hold plenty of dark secrets. Among its most unsettling features are underground sewer tunnels that were discovered by the owners after a near-death fall through a manhole.

Visitors don't simply walk through this haunt. They experience it handcuffed, navigating the abandoned jail while attempting to escape insane inmates and find their way through the creepy underground tunnels.

Adding to the experience, guests will even have their booking photo taken along the way.

The question is whether you'll escape before the inmates—or whatever else may be hiding below—find you.

More Than Just the Haunt

Demon Acres offers more than its three main attractions. While waiting to board the wagon, visitors can stop at the food shack for something to eat before heading into the darkness.

After surviving the thrills, guests can gather around the big bonfire and take some time to recover from the night's scares.

Visitors can also browse the Demon Acres Apparel Shop for T-shirts and hoodies or test their luck at the SkeleBall Carnival Game.

For those who want an even more exclusive experience, the VIP Fire Lounge provides a private area for groups, complete with a personal fire and tour guide. VIP guests also receive Express Tickets to help minimize time spent waiting in line.

Choose Your Level of Fear

Demon Acres offers several ticket options depending on how much of the experience visitors want to tackle.

The $40 Combo Ticket includes all three attractions: the Extreme Haunted Hayride, Abandoned Jail and Haunted House. Guests must complete the attractions in order.

For visitors who would rather spend less time waiting in line, the $65 Express Fear Ticket includes all three attractions with expedited access.

Those interested in experiencing just the hayride can purchase an Extreme Haunted Hayride Ticket for $20.

Groups of at least 20 people can take advantage of a $35-per-person group rate, which includes all three attractions.

For those looking to turn the night into a private event, the VIP Fire Lounge Ticket is $75 per person and includes a private area, personal fire, tour guide and Express Tickets for each guest.
